First Reference annual holiday donation, season’s greetings, and holiday break

2022 is coming to an end, and it has undoubtedly been a challenging year for everyone post-pandemic. However, First Reference would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support. We hope you and your families, your employees and their families always stay healthy and safe.

Instead of mailing holiday cards, we donate to an organization that helps people in need every year. This year’s donation goes to a Quebec charity giving homeless people warm coats. Renaissance is a Quebec non-profit organization with thrift stores and liquidation centres across the province. Here’s a link to a recent CBC story on this worthwhile initiative.

Please note, we will not be blogging during the holidays. Our office and Ask the Editor service will be closed for the holidays starting on Friday, December 23, 2022, at noon and will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Corporations Canada and new transparency about federal non-profit corporations under the CNCA and new fees for certain documents

When ordering corporate documents from Corporations Canada, it now appears that additional documents are available. It used to be listed only the documents from the Incorporation under the CNCA or continuance to the CNCA. Older documents under the Canada Corporations Act were not listed. Now the older documents under the old Canada Corporations Act are listed.
