AODA reporting deadline – How PolicyPro can help

AODA reporting deadline

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance reporting deadline is just around the corner. Do you know what your obligations are?

If you are a business or non-profit organization with 20 or more employees or a public-sector organization, you must submit your accessibility compliance report by the extended deadline of June 30, 2021. The compliance report confirms that your organization has met its current accessibility requirements under the AODA.

The requirements and deadlines you need to follow depend on the type and size of your organization. Accessibility compliance includes among other things putting policies and procedures in place that will help you achieve your organization’s accessibility goals. This includes training your employees on those policies, the AODA, the accessibility standards and how the AODA works with the human rights duty to accommodate.

If you haven’t done so yet or if you need to update your current accessibility policies and procedures, PolicyPro can help with that.

There are three new videos in the Accessibility Standards PolicyPro (ASPP) database to assist in meeting your training obligations. Simply make them available to your staff through the PolicyPro platform.

These videos, along with the related policies and quizzes, will help inform your staff and test their understanding on what is expected of them in terms of accessibility at your workplace. PolicyPro makes it easy to put the necessary policies and procedures in place and to train your employees, ensuring that you meet your accessibility compliance requirements when it’s time to submit your compliance report.

To access the videos, go to your ASPP database in PolicyPro and choose 2.01 Accessible Customer Service, 3.01 Statement of Organization Commitment or 3.05 Accessibility and Human Rights Training.

If you don’t currently subscribe to the ASPP database, now is a good time to take a trial and get your accessibility compliance in order.
