On September 20, 2012, the federal government tabled Bill C-44, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code and the Employment Insurance Act and to make consequential amendments to the Income Tax Act and the Income Tax Regulations (also known as Helping Families in Need Act), to support three measures that will help Canadian families balance work and family responsibilities.
