The Department of Finance of Canada recently released a report on the implications of the nation’s aging population and its effect on Canada’s economy, as well as the overall climate for employment.
The Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta just allowed an appeal and confirmed that when an employer did not take reasonable steps to prevent the death of a summer student, the employer violated the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and was therefore convicted on two counts.
Two harassment claims from an employee of an Ontario nursing home were dismissed by the Ontario Labour Relations Board recently, citing the claims as misinterpretations of regular disciplinary action on behalf of the employer.
