Employer on hook for damages because of work reprisal

An Ontario labour arbitrator just decided that, when an employer terminated an employee after he refused to drive a truck he thought was unsafe, the employer engaged in a work reprisal. As a result, the employer was on the hook to pay $18,000 to the employee who had only been working with the employer for three months.
