On May 13, Bill 96, An Act respecting French, the official and common language of Quebec (Bill 96) was tabled to the National Assembly.

The Quebec Court of Appeal reaffirmed the jurisprudence as to the constitutional validity of provisions requiring the joint or predominant use of French in Québec in respect of commercial advertising, packaging and publications, including websites.
While 2014 brought a new liberal government to the province of Quebec, it did not bring any respite from the enforcement of the Charter of the French Language . We should expect the Charter to remain relevant to businesses operating in the province for the foreseeable future.
