Almost 100,000 public servants earning over $100,000

Thousands of Ontario public servants earn more than $100,000 annually, but the government wants Ontarians to know that the average salary on the so-called sunshine list has declined in four of the past five years. In 2012, the average was $127,576; in 2013, it was $127,433. However, while the average salary declined in 2013, the number of employees on the list grew by close to 9,000 to 97,796.

No discrimination based on sexual orientation

The vice-chair of the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal dismissed an application alleging discrimination based on sexual orientation. The termination was not because of sexual orientation but due to demonstrated poor performance.
