On June 5, 2019, the Ontario government tabled Bill 124, Protecting a Sustainable Public Sector for Future Generations Act, 2019 in an effort to, according to the government, ensure that increases in public sector compensation reflect the fiscal situation of the province.
According to an RBC insurance study published on May 28, 2019, the number of working Canadians who need time off for a disability is on the rise, yet disability coverage is on the decline, leaving Canadians at financial risk.
As a result of feedback received from interested stakeholders including employers, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is making several improvements to their services and programs for small and medium sized businesses through 2021. (In PDF)
