A new study reveals the need for clarity surrounding office romance/relationship policies. According to the study by Leger Research for ADP Canada and reported by CNW, Canadians are finding love at work, but nearly half of them are hiding it from co-workers and employers.
In a recent Nova Scotia labour arbitration case, the arbitrator considered whether an employee who masturbated while watching pornography in a workplace bathroom stall warranted discipline up to and including termination.
The case that awarded an employee a 30-month notice period and where the Court held that it would have awarded more, 36 months in fact, if the employee had asked for it was appealed and overturned.
