The Supreme Court of British Columbia has determined that the appropriate notice period for a terminated employee with seven years of service to the employer was 10 months.
The Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta recently considered the issue of entitlement to bonus payments on termination.
Police record checks are fraught with risk at the best of times, according to the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, and a recent investigation by Canada’s privacy commissioner found risk may exist even when a record does not.
