Dealing with violence in the workplace has become a priority for employers. When employers fail to comply with the law, they risk hefty fines, like the fines received by the employers in the following recent cases.
Age will be added as a protected ground under sections 4 and 5 of the Alberta Human Rights Act.
The Institute for Work & Health conducted a multi-jurisdictional, two-year, study focused on understanding how healthcare providers interact with workers’ compensation boards, manage the treatment of workers’ compensation patients, and navigate the return-to-work process.
