The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) is urging businesses to require employees to reset their passwords in order to curb a recent trend involving breaches.
An employee working for a an international trucking company that is considered a federally regulated employer alleged that while his accident claim was active with a provincial workers’ compensation board, his employer informed the board, without his knowledge and consent, that he had tested positive in a drug test.
The Alberta government is working with the province’s police services to coordinate the investigation of serious workplace health and safety incidents under Bill C-45.
