Introducing guest blogger Earl Altman

earl-altman-smIt’s a pleasure to welcome Earl Altman as a guest blogger. He will be blogging about human resources and employment and labour law issues.

Earl Altman is a partner of Garfinkle, Biderman . Since he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1983, Earl has practiced commercial and employment litigation.

Earl’s litigation practice focuses on employment disputes, including acting for employees or employers in wrongful dismissal claims, and in breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims. He also handles a variety of commercial disputes, including claims arising out of disputes within partnerships, and among shareholders, as well as disputes between commercial landlords and tenants.

Earl obtained his undergraduate degree at Carleton University before earning his LL.B. at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. He has presented many seminars to business and community groups on dispute avoidance in different walks of life, and has published articles in a number of human resource publications. At Ryerson University School of Architecture, he taught a course on basic legal concepts. He is a regular contributor to HRinfodesk and the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario ELAW newsletter.
