The Ontario Ministry of Labour has posted its compliance plan for 2019-2020. This plan provides information about the types of workplaces and hazards that will be targeted and offers resources to assist with complying with occupational health and safety laws in various industry sectors.
New occupational health and safety strategy
The Ontario Ministry of Labour is looking for feedback by May 15, 2019, on a new occupational health and safety strategy that is being developed for Ontario by the Chief Prevention Officer.
Bill to implement 2019 budget measures
On April 11, 2019, the Ontario government tabled Bill 100, Protecting What Matters Most Act (Budget Measures), 2019 that includes a number of measures that are of interest to pension and benefit plan sponsors, employers and payroll professionals.
