The Remembrance Day Bill close to being enacted
On June 21, 2017, Bill C-311, An Act to amend the Holidays Act (Remembrance Day), passed third reading in the House of Commons. The Bill recognizes Remembrance Day (November 11) as a national legal holiday.
Update on Bill 148: Employment and labour law reform
On September 11, 2018, an amended version of Bill 148, Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017 was ordered for second reading and is currently being debated.
WSIB 2018 premium rate
On September 19, 2017, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board announced its 2018 premium rates and approved a 3.3 percent reduction to the average premium rate for 2018.
