The Alberta Human Rights Tribunal is upholding the employee’s claim based on physical disability discrimination. The Tribunal was critical of assumptions the employer made about her fitness for work in the absence of proper investigation and assessment of the employee.
The federal government has signaled its intent to overhaul data privacy within Canada by sending a mandate letter to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, advising him to advance Canada’s Digital Charter and enhance powers for the Privacy Commissioner, in order to establish a new set of online rights.
New legislation and regulations have been proclaimed in force on July 1, 2020, to establish a new framework in Canada to regulate vaping products, which consist of vaping substances, vaping devices and their parts.
