The COVID-19 pandemic presents as a risk towards both the physical and mental health of your employees. Self-isolation can have a drastic impact on the mental wellbeing on your employees. If your employees are working from home, it is important to encourage supports that take into account their physical and mental health. The following are a few tips to support your employees to encourage their overall well-being as a priority.
Taking breaks
It is important to encourage employees to take consistent breaks while they are working from home. Maintaining the same level of productivity can be difficult. Employees should be encouraged to take breaks in between tasks or if they are feeling overwhelmed.
Hydration
Consistent hydration is crucial for maintaining good health. It is important to remind employees that the recommended daily amount of water intake is 2 litres per day. Employees should be encouraged to stay hydrated during self-isolation.
Screen time
Did you know that 60% of us spend more than 6 hours a day in front of a digital device? Did you also know that constant use of digital devices such as staring at a phone or computer screen can cause eye strain and potentially create vision issues? Even while we’re working at home, this is important to remember. Encouraging employees to take breaks from looking at screens can reduce eye strain and headaches, as well as improve sleep.
