On May 13, 2024, Bill 194, Strengthening Cyber Security and Building Trust in the Public Sector Act, 2024, received first reading in the Ontario legislature. There are two main schedules in this bill. The goal is to enhance digital security and to make significant amendments to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act with respect to the public sector.
