CHRP designation change affecting HR industry across Canada
The Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations, and the provincial associations who make up the national body, excluding Ontario, aligned under the new name Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) Canada. As a result, effective October 12, 2016, the Certified Human Resources Professional designation was changed to the name CPHR – Chartered Professional in Human Resources.

Worker’s fatal heart attack on the job deemed not work related
The following appeal comes about after a worker’s estate appealed a decision of an Appeals Resolution Officer of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, which denied entitlement for the worker’s fatal heart attack that occurred on the job. The appeal was denied because the worker’s heart attack was deemed not work related.
