These days, a common question is when are the baby boomers going to start retiring and free up their jobs for the next generations? Businesses, workers, job-searchers and policy-makers all have an interest in how this large demographic are going to end their careers.
This matter concerns a disciplinary suspension imposed on a teacher in connection with a discriminatory Facebook posting about a co-worker. An Ontario labour arbitrator decided that the employer rightly disciplined the employee. However, the length of the suspension was a bit long given the lack of disciplinary record.
